I think it is a case of knowing more than what Greenspan says rather than knowing more than what Greenspan knows.

It might be the right thing for Greenspan to paint a deceptively rosy picture, if it is in the national interest for people not to stop spending due to economic worriies. But if it has gone that far that he has to lie, then just how bad is it?

Personally, I would rather believe what Intel said in their update last week, and what I see with my own eyes in terms of industrial activity.
