Religion shapes our beliefs, our thinking and our emotions. Every social, political, economic, and theological idea is impacted by our religious training.

If your religion teaches you universal love, respect for the dignity of all men, the law of mercy and forgiveness instead of an eye for eye, and the Christian concept of the universality of the love of God, these ideals will shape your political, social, and economic thoughts of that individual.

But, on the other hand, if your religion teaches you a narrow tribal particularism that only your "genes" are "chosen" before God, three or four eyes for an eye demonstrated by Orthodox/Zionism in Israel today, that love should be restricted and focused on your tribe, a crude and primitive justice of revenge instead of mercy and love, then these negative values will also shape your social, political and economic thoughts and emotions.
