"My point is that God has no known face"

Yes, God has "known face", and that face was the face of Jesus Christ the son of David--a Judaean! Under the old covenant God had never taken on humanity, but under the New, God became man. It is now possible to image Christ because Christ became a man.

The law was delivered by Moses, but "grace and truth came by Jesus Christ". The only way to follow the law under the New Covenant is to have faith in Christ and through that faith you receive the righteousness of God---perfect obedience to the law.

This desire to return to the law is simply a desire to abolish THE NEW AND LIVING WAY established by Christ and attempt to return to the false righteousness of the rabbis and Pharisees.

Only Christ can give mankind righteousness.

That would be interesting, humans could not agree on a standard. And
when people begin fighting over the standards, then what ? I think God did a
better job than man could hope to achieve.

Are you saying human beings now agree on Gods' standard?
