nspolar,
However, after reading this article one might be less inclined to dismiss the global warming trend as something perpetrated solely by the liberal environmentalists. That is if one was inclined to do so in the first place.

Very true, we live in an age when scientific reports and data gathering are subject to political bias, so while I would not dismiss all the global warming data as liberal bias, I will admit to having been suspicious of it and having a bias against the global warming theory myself.

As you also note, it is data gathering and evaluation nightmare (at least I would think so). Absolutely for a small fry like me, it IS a data gathering nightmare of impossible proportions!

However, I am reconsidering my global warming opinions, as what happened to my models and forecast this year indicates a probable data error within my proprietary climatology model. Yes, so far we are getting a colder March than last year in my forecast area and so far in March southern Canada it is very cold also, but how we ended up with a very warm Jan-Feb in my forecast area was nothing less than model failure.

A failure that indicates additional data input and a tweaking of my system parameters is definitely required.

I do have a theory that indicates extreme warming possible, in addition to drought, but it is far from fleshed out and likely will never be able to be more than theory. It is based on historical records, tree ring data and so forth and there is no way I I could dig up sufficient figures from these historical periods.

Spotting a small fractal like pattern is the most I could hope for.

Well, I've got to get back to work on other stuff now...

Best Regards,

Roebear
