Nuclear saber rattling

I had a daughter just a few months old when the radioactive cloud came over Scotland from Chernobyle. The rain bought it down. Several highly radioactive particles were discovered by routine inspections at our Nuclear power stations. The Government were clear at the time no threat of safety existed. The rainwater that came down that day had approximately 60,000 bequerals per litre. Glad we stayed indoors for those two days. Oddly enough I had just finished a course on nuclear safety for small research sealed sources.

The effect of Chernobyle on the Ukraine people was to ban all nuclear weapons. If you see what nuclear radiation does to people it is not surprising. Any nuclear explosions is going to be highly unpopular no matter where they go off.
