Which is why I would emphasize not producing children you can't properly care for. Oh, I agree, as you may gather. I'm just not convinced you can insure against all problems: you may be confident that you can provide, and have taken reasonable steps - then along comes a recession, your insurance company goes under and your wife's won't pay, and you can't afford the childcare to let you both work... these things happen. (Not to me since I have no children yet. And am not improvident. But I'm still wary...]
