i have had roadrunner cable modem for about 3 years. 40/month it is fantastic. very reliable, very fast. i'd kill for it. i've heard horror stories about dsl and also a lot of compliments. if it were me, i'd go cable if both were available. larry

Cable is faster until you get a bunch of people in your node (aka neighborhood) and you have to share the speed. During non-primetime hours it rocks. DSL is a somewhat slower but does not have to be shared so the speed is more consistent. DSL can be a tricky installation and your distance from the signal effects your signal strength. The service is much more trouble prone. I have tried both and my choice was cable.

I got about 550,000 KP with my DSL.

I now get 1,000,000 to 1.500,000 with Comcast night or day. When it was @HOME it would slow to a crawl at night.
