Besides what Clinton did was about Clinton.

I cannot imagine a more incorrect statement than this one. Surely, you cannot with a straight face suggest that the ton of scandals which plagued Clinton's administration did not have devastating effects on our country. And surely, you aren't suggesting that his failed foreign policy is without consequence, are you?

Our current dilemma with respect to Iraq is a prime example. Had Clinton been a true leader, when Saddam expelled our weapons inspectors we would have relentlessly pounded him into submission. This was the appropriate action.

Instead, we now have George Bush having to repair the damage done by Clinton's incompetence (Bush is doing a damned fine job of it, I might add).

Back to the soap opera called "The HP-Compaq merger,"

HP Directors Warn Board May Resign

story.news.yahoo.com

Is it just me, or did those who oppose the deal already sell their shares? It's like a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation if you hold a significant amount of HP and/or Compaq, but you don't want the deal to go through.

Besides what Clinton did was about Clinton. What happened in
FL is about us as a nation and as a democracy.

It was about Clinton and about having presidents be subject to the same laws that everyone else is forced to follow. In this case Clinton actually signed the law that enabled the line of questioning that he lied about under oath.

Back in the 80's, Reagan gave aid to those who would be bin Laden's allies in the 90's.

Some of them became bin Laden's allies, some his enemies. We where giving aid to anyone who was fighting the Soviets and in the process helped collapse the Soviet empire.
