Stockholm, March 12 (Bloomberg) -- Ericsson AB dropped as much as 5.7 percent, leading European phone equipment companies lower, after Nokia Oyj said first-quarter sales will miss its forecasts because of a slump in network revenue.

Ericsson's shares lost as much as 2.8 kroner to 46.4 kroner, while Siemens AG fell as much as 1.97 euros to 75.30 in Frankfurt. Nokia, which generates most of its sales from mobile phones, was recently down 2.6 percent after initially dropping 5 percent.

Nokia said first-quarter sales will probably drop more than a previous forecast of 10 percent because network sales will decline about 25 percent, more than the 16 percent to 20 percent it predicted earlier. Ericsson is the biggest networks company.
