Well I'm not sure what to suggest ...
If I were going to get some health insurance now on my own I would probably check with blue cross/blue shield first.

They are pretty common and pretty accepted thoughout the midwest here. I'm not sure what you are looking for in insurance coverage but you can always check the policy before you buy. Everything varies. I'm pretty sure you can set your limits also; the bc/bs rep probably can help you. See if you can get help before they just send a info. packet out too you <g>.

I never thought about getting it online before; maybe that would be the way to go. But I would think if you are looking for coverage and reliability on that coverage a well known policy with good well spelled out coverage will probably suit you best.

Let's see what other people have to say.

Sean

I do know a good honest broker is very valuable. I was going to buy extra disability insurance in fear of losing my home if I got hurt at work. A good broker told me I could buy more than my company provided. However, Cal. state law didn't allow a person to collect more than the 70% of my base salary my company already insured my income for in case of disability. Many agents/brokers/companies would have gone ahead and sold me the insurance knowing I could never collect it.
I think I good broker could advise you on who would provide the best insurance. Check with many of them.
