Free country, Poet. Guess what you like. I dislike Thamesy. I find him hostile to America and contemptuous of the Irish and I don't feel compelled to reply, in detail, to his every message.

I have a number of wonderful English friends and cherish much of what England has contributed to civilization. Their empire, where it existed, left far more of value than did the overseas rule of other European powers.

There is a sort of Englishman though, given the slightest advantage or education, who becomes a ridiculous and overbearing twit. They too have made their mark -- footprints that lead straight to some of the SUBSTANTIVE dogpiles in our path today.

Thank you for commenting on the writer's conference. I guess it makes sense, in a way. But, BOX LUNCHES???
