IBM can take on EMC all by itself, Their Shark system is gaining ground and IBM has priced it competitively. No reason anyone would want to take over a bloated giant like with lots of internal problems like EMC. All IMHO.

EDIT:NTAP is a more reasonable possibility

IBM's takeover rumour of EMC probably has more to do with EMC's max pain being 12.5 imho ....
