I went into a NCAA pool for the tournament (final four?)
I happily filled in the blanks...
And I ended up with a four letter word in the middle.

Olson coach of the year; Gardner honored
ARIZONA DAILY STAR

Arizona's Lute Olson was named national coach of the year by CNN/Sports Illustrated, and guard Jason Gardner appeared on two more All-America teams.

Gardner was voted third-team All-American by The Associated Press and second-team All-American by CNN/SI. Arizona forward Luke Walton was awarded honorable mention honors by The Associated Press.

Walton has maintained this week he is more interested in having the Wildcats advance in the NCAA tournament than receive awards.

"That's nice,'' Walton told spokes-man Richard Paige. "But I'm kind of disappointed that Jason Gardner was a third-team selection.''

Olson led Arizona to a 22-9 regular-season record, the Pac-10 tournament championship and the Wildcats' 18th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, despite losing four starters from last season.

Olson earned the Clair Bee Coach of the Year and the John R. Wooden "Legends of Coaching" awards last season. In 29 years as a head coach, Olson has a career record of 661-234 (.739), including a 469-142 (.768) mark in 19 years at Arizona.

Gardner, named a co-team MVP with Walton, averages 20.5 points per game while playing an average of 38.1 minutes. Last week, Gardner became only the third player in school history to tally at least 100 three-point field goals in a single season.
