I have no problem with it just as long as management isn't interlocked so-to-speak. Otherwise it can lead to conflicts of interest.

Absolutely correct!

Cisco has been looking and executing many different ways to grow the product base and I just love the way they emulate what a lot of biotechs do!

I agree. Cisco isn't hiding anything here. There R&D expenses, which represent the entire possible loss from these transactions is reported as R&D expenses. So the investors should be reassured that there is no funny business going on here. It is a very shrewd way to leverage your own cash, while simultaneously limiting your downside risk. Cisco is very well-managed.
