keep plenty of juice and pudding on hand -- I hear radiation sickness can be survived, but lots of solids don't help a guy. You have stockpiled some bottled water, too, right???

only thing i see on the web for radiation sickness seems to be potassium iodide. but i've also read that a recent study showed that androstenedione (200 mg?) helped ease radiation sickness. sorry, i can't locate the article though. i just remember reading it because i happen to have a bottle of andro-100 sitting in my kitchen, from my weight lifting days. stopped using it cuz i found myself getting roid rage while trading, and was also afraid of getting testicular cancer.

oops. thermal radiation is immense heat from the blast, which you might be able to protect against by jumping in your neighbor's pool naked with his teenage daughter.

i was thinking about radiation sickness from fallout, which may kill you even if the initial blast doesn't:
