You originally said that Gore changed his mind when he found out how corrupt FL was. I was pointing out that your statement made no sense. Any corruption didn't come out until later...he took it back once the media decided it was close again.

At this point, I don't remember the details but I do remember that there was new info indicating something wrong in FL......I thought some ballots had been miscounted. But whatever the new info was, Gore would have been stupid not to have withdrawn his concession. As it was, Bush barely won.

Excuse me............no, I didn't know.....I am not paranoid so I don't look for slime and dirt around every corner.

It has nothing to do with paranoia...watching the nightly news would have been enough. <g>

Sorry, I missed it.

I just think it's interesting that you charge Reps with corruption in FL when you aren't aware of other newsworthy instances in the same election. As someone else pointed out, historically the Dems have a lot more experience with this kind of thing.

I think you will admit, or may be not, that the events in FL pretty much overshadowed what was going on elsewhere. In any case, it was not intentional on my part.

No problem......believing it is easy. All I have to do is think Nixon or K. Harris.

Interesting you mention Nixon: adversity.net.

K. Harris was just trying to do her job. The FL Supreme Court was trying to legislate and do it for her.

During the campaign, K. Harris was seen all over the country, trailing Bush, rather than in FL. Had she spent more time in FL and done her job, we may have avoided the problems that were encountered in FL. Then again, having heard Harris speak, may be not.

So what? I guess it's ok for Dems to receive help from wherever it may come.

I didn't say that......do you read what I wrote or just guess at it? Its right up above....try it again.

You did say that.

Please show me where I said it was okay for Dems to receive illegal aid and not okay for Reps.

The only votes that were getting made up were in those Dem counties where they were attempting to "divne" the intent of the voter.

Talk about not being informed.....there were vote tallies incorrectly done in many FL counties which surprise, surprise.....ended up in favor of Bush. Those tallies of course had to be corrected when it became apparent that Fl was too close to call. You see Jeb put out an order that his bro must take FL. It would appear his subordinates attempted to comply with that request by all available means.

Really? The popular vote may mean nothing to Reps. but it means something to the rest of us.

Funny, days before the election when it looked like Bush was going to win the popular vote and Gore the electoral the Gore campaign was spinning that the popular vote wasn't what counted. I guess they (and you) forgot.

In a presidential election, it's nothing more than a statistic.

Well, we will see how insignificant that statistic is in the next presidential election.
