Hey are you watching this stuff on the trading show? They are calling it 'Wireless Wonders'. Its like they dont know if its a PC or a phone? They got a NOK phone that opens up into a computer and computers that have phones in them. All this with the warnings this morning. I think there could be something big brewing. Plus with these tiny little devices you can carry in your pocket that have phones, computers, and cameras built in, I think it was called PocketPool or something like that, a pool of devices that fits in your pocket. Oh it includes voice recognition too. This stuff is really exciting. And they are always on, recording voice and video of everything you do all the time, and transmitting that stuff at 2.4 or 4.8 MB per second. I mean like WOW DOUBLE WOW. Can you imagine all the applications and stuff that is going to be needed? What about all the SAN sucker disk drives to record everything everybody in the whole world is doing all the time, and all the cameras placed in every possible place on the planet. I mean you could put cameras inside the Maytag washer to keep an eye on your dirty laundry, etc! What about all the cPU cycles to process all this data to figure out what is going on? I think I am going over to the BBR tread to let this guy named MQ know about all this stuff. He's got this theory that the computers are going to take over from us people sometime soon.

CU later

NV - 1. Are you serious that they have it right now Yes.

2. 80Kbps is faster than most people have in the US in their homes today. VZ offers that right now in many markets but not yet nationwide.

3. 1X EVDO is the next upgrade from 1X. It is due for nationwide roll out at the end of this year. Speed sup to max 2.4 Kbps.

Take a look at the QCOM threads and ask anyone there. Ibexx no this thread knows tihs subject and you can go to andy of the regulars on QCOM who will be only too happy to brief you on these great gadgets.

By the end of this year the daily lives of those who want mobile IP are going to be changed beyond recognition in the US. It amy sound frivolous but we wil lbe able to have mobile SI at over 2Mbps in organic color screeend PDAs. I expect fully flexible screen by the end of 03 allowing you to wrap up your screen like a handkerchief and put it in your pocket. PLus bluetooth enabled 3D-D gogles communicating with our handsets.

All these goodies are on there way to us.

Best,

L
