Why do you figure that the people who put up government sites are unbiased? (in general, not just about homosexuality) Actually I accept that they may well be biassed - people and governments. But, particularly on homosexuality, I think their public utterances more liable to be strictly objective. They will be very cautious of favouring any agenda. By contrast, any affiliation group will inevitably be pushing its own agenda (else why would it be interested in the area): and even academic studies often come from a particular perspective.
