I turned to Fox News this morning in time to here them describing in detail how she did it. I turned the channel as fast as I could because it was so disturbing. I tried to fight back the tears, but was not successful. The visualization has haunted me all day. I hope it goes away soon (the haunting visualization).

I was watching Fox after they had announced there was a verdict, but before it was read. They commented that the jury had asked for a tape player....assuming they wanted to listen to the 911 call immediately after it happened.

I assume they felt that was the key to whether she was insane.

I have not been following the case at all. The thought of what she did is too disturbing to me, and I really had no interest in the day-to-day machinations of the trial.

I did recently read an article about the Yates family in one of the news magazines, and it was clear that Andrea Yates was a very seriously ill woman. Whether that equates into knowing right from wrong at the time of the murders has now been settled by the jury, which heard all the evidence. It was clear from the article that a lot of people, including her treating psychiatrists and her husband dropped the ball and could have done more to prevent this.

All in all, it's a terribly tragic story.
