UF,

That may not be a survival attitude if your vision comes to pass.

Not to make too fine a point of it, but it was your interpretation of my vision, not my actual vision :^>.

I don't think reasonable valuations imply a destroyed society, though many things would likely change. Debt would be less used by businesses and consumers (work ethic, get only what you can afford,...), wall st. would be thoroughly cleansed and people would get some perspective(e.g. America is attacked on 9/11 and many people seemed more concerned with the impact on markets than the impact to the actual victims and the fact that younger people would be going to war...though I was impressed by the many who reacted, and acted positively).

It's just another cycle and my idea of survival here is more basic than what you implied; just getting out with some capital and more importantly things that matter (job, wife, friends,...) - ready to tackle the next bull market (whenever the he!! that comes -bg). Hopefully it will be in 2-3 years, which is at the low end of my time projection for this bear. Worst case would be a choppy decade - I don't think anyone wants that...

Cheers. Rob
