there are 2 Infantry MOS's...

Gosh darnnit Unclewest... Here I was about to respond that you forgot about 11M (mechanized infantry) and 11H (TOW gunner), but then I learned that Ft. Benning has merged those two MOS's into 11B... (which I think is a good idea):

dtic.mil

Now I feel even more special... :0) We used to BS ourselves that "anyone can be 11B, but you have to be something special to be 11C"... Of course, that was just to lift our spirits whenever we were forced to pack that bulky, heavy @ssed baseplate on a 20 mile forced march (the tube and yoke assembly were much easier since we'd prop it on our shoulders and hang our arms from it... But that baseplate....

Man.. there was just no easy way to carry that SOB...

Fortunately, the unit I returned to from AIT was armored cav, so we'd root around in our M-113s and 106s, packing our ice chests and "pogie bait" whenever we went on manuvers.. I eventually OJT'd into a 19D Scout vehicle commander slot and left the tubes behind. But I certainly had an advantage over my compatriots when it came to practicing call for fire missions with the our 4.2 section.

But I couldn't work an FDC plotting board for the life of me now... I've forgotten most of that stuff long ago.
