Nadine, Crudely, what I'd like to know is if there is a palestinian Christian left in Palestinian territory. What are their emmigration stats right out of the M East? They are leaving in droves; Christians used to be about 15% of the Arab population; now I think it's more like 3%. Logic of this point of view suggests that Israel should concentrate on totally destroying Hamas and like organizations and not vitiate its energy in retaliation for individual outrages. Logic of this POV suggests killing Arafat also, as by now it's very clear he is the point man for the pogrom/program. Logic also suggests killing his replacement point men also. They are working on number 1. Political considerations (like keeping US goodwill) are preventing points 2 and 3.
