OK. I was including all of the UK, not just England. In any case my post wasn't very serious. Obviously a lot of the land area is not suitable for back yards as not to many people want to live on the sides of mountains, in the middle of a forest or just far away from jobs, stores, and other people. If you just take the land area per person the entire population of the world could live fairly comfortably in Texas, but this ignores inhospitable areas and doesn't leave space for things like farms or national parks.
