According to this Jan 9 news story the Gurkhas are already in Afghanistan. rediff.com The only other news story has them in Sierra Leone allafrica.com Unfortunately there numbers have been reduced over the years because of defence cut backs. The British public ought to debate on bringing them back to original numbers. That is one tax expense more then worthwhile imho. The costs could be covered by closing down some regional governments if necessary. Probably improve local matters-g-
