but I have sensitive ears

As do I. How do you handle noisy restaurants? I tend to "shut down" and not participate in conversation, especially when I'm with a large group as I was in a high-decibel Mexican restaurant this week. I've heard that the hearing of men and women differs in keeping up with multiple sounds and conversations, but I forget which gender has an easier time with it .. I would guess females.

Speaking of sounds, the loud moans and groans emanating from Dallas, with their delicate Southern dialect, are actually quite pleasing to the ear.
