I do wish they would stop referring to the Abu Sayyaf as "rebels" and "terrorists". They are really neither, just a gang of bandits operating in a culture that regards banditry as acceptable, as long as it is directed at those outside the tribe. That culture would also see nothing at all wrong with having underage boys provide logistic support for the bandits. Many Tausug 12 year olds would do so willingly. In that culture the greatest moment in a boy's life is the day he gets his first gun. It's an odd place.
