Thanks for that summary Max. I am amazed when I read the press reports that "Greenspan is optimistic" etc. His actual words are facts with, like you say, ifs and buts everywhere. Greenspan saying "we are beginning to see signs that the economy might be recovering blah blah" is meaningless. He is the fed chief, let's have less of the "might"s and hear from him what he thinks will actually happen.
