Elmer, here's an 8-way IBM Power 4. Starts at $450,000, only 9X the Intel 8-way, and with just 8 GB! Of course, it's 64 bit, but so will be the IBM xSeries 440 soon with McKinley. And, IBM claims the 440 is getting the royal IBM RAS treatment (although who knows how royal compared with their e-series or with their mainframes).
