you definitely more familiar with the tools than me so I could not argue. It seems logical to me though that there would be an allowance in the roadmap for development and implementation.
But it is also clear, even to me, :-)) that amd is not going to wait until 157nm tools and, in fact, amd stated so.

Actually, it could be that AMD intended to use 248nm lithography for the 100nm node, but when Intel announced that they would be pursuing 90nm, AMD decided that that's where they would be, too. However, it might require 193nm lithography to go down to that level.
