"By restoring tariffs and duties to their proper role we will also make foreign populations who benefit from access to the U.S. market share the burden of supporting the governmental system that guarantees its existence."

--Alan Keyes

a brilliant point. foreigners wouldn't enjoy being able to export 25% of the total world manufactures to us americans if we didn't have a stable system of government that should provide a decent standard of living for all americans. there is nothing wrong or unfair about asking for an entrance fee to the greatest marketplace on earth. they don't have much choice. where else is the world going to peddle its wares?

Craig,

Excellent article.

Alan Keyes is a good man and a true patriot. I wish he was part of the Bush administration.
