You are prudent to keep an eye on the Japan situation as it unfolds over the next year or so. The implications of Japan selling its dollar and other non-yen assets as a response to the fiscal crisis is not a trivial impact. The ability of the pharmas here to raise cheap capital that in turn provides an investor base for U.S. biotechs is fundamentally changing (at least a little at the moment). Given the lack of serious, vetted research here, this change could cripple Japan's access (they have nothing to provide the jv but capital). some thoughts I have been tossing around. fwiw. regards, george
