Thanks for your explanations of "max pain". I have learned a lot about a lot of things over the past few months. I have been following a knowledgeable group of posters. Tonite they have been unusually quiet. At first I thought SI must have been having trouble. I'm beginning to think it reflects uncertainty about market direction. Maybe it means there isn't any direction but it seems like a rather pregnant pause. Best, Brom
