That was my whole point donk. As you say, during grinding rises, implied volatility shrinks -- less volatility. For those who foresee volatility on the horizon, this is when options are "cheap".

Believe me, there is more volatility in bear markets. I've posted various charts showing percentage daily moves and opening gaps and they increased dramatically after Jan of 2000.
