Warren, New Jersey, March 13 (Bloomberg) -- Anadigics Inc., a maker of chips used in cell phones and cable devices, said first- quarter revenue will be better than it previously expected because of strong demand for its products.

Anadigics's wireless revenue will be $9 million, above the $8 million the company forecast in January, and broadband revenue will be about $10 million, said company spokesman Tim Blanke.

The company, based in Warren, New Jersey, designs and makes radio frequency chips used to process and control communication signals. It will report first-quarter earnings on April 22.

Anadigics shares fell 73 cents, or 5.7 percent, to $12.07. They've dropped 7.2 percent over the past 12 months. The news was announced after U.S. markets closed.
