I just caught Bill Bennett talking about this project on CNN. Looks like he's concerned that public support may flag.

<<"While support for US policies is at present very high, we believe that unless public opinion is reinforced, our national resolve will weaken over time. It is crucial that we maintain steady support within this nation, calling its citizens to the defense of its highest ideals and virtues. >>

They're planning teach-ins on campus to combat the influence of the demolib pinhead faculty.

I suspect that the whole "axis of evil" idea is simply an attempt to invoke the spirit of Ronald Reagan, who has of course been elevated to the status of divinity by men of Mr. Bush's political persuasion. As Reagan had his evil empire, so Bush will have his axis of evil. Never mind that it isn't really an axis, just a group of unconnected countries that make good targets, being so universally disliked that nobody is likely to point out that they don't really pose much of a threat. Never mind, also, that nobody is saying what is really so evil about them. It sounded Reaganesque, and that it what it was meant to do.
