Thus and therefore golden retrievers should take over airport security?....or does your logic not extend that far?

Perhaps. But it looks to me, whenever I encounter a room full of well-trained gun-toting individuals, there is less chance anyone will attempt anything out of line. Accidents can happen, and bozos get a wide berth. I tend to give armed folks a wide berth anyway except in organized situations.

An armed society is a polite society, as they say.

I don't expect everyone to be competent or trustworthy to be armed. The untrustworthy ones either follow the rules or get ostracized. It reaaaallly makes you pay attention to someone, if they are armed and not quite right.

Trust (i.e. safety) is relative. From what little I know about you, in peacetime I would probably trust you slightly more than the average NRA member. I would trust the average NRA member more than the government. I trust our government more than any other government ... which isn't saying squat, btw.

How do you come up with these nuggets of irrationality?
