ASM International Op Gets Amkor Tech Chip Sys Order DOW JONES NEWSWIRES AMSTERDAM -- Dutch semiconductor-equipment manufacturer ASM International NV (ASMI) Friday said its 54%-owned ASM Pacific unit has received an order to deliver 60 chip-manufacturing machines. It didn't disclose the value of the order from Amkor Technology Inc. (AMKR), but said shipments of the systems, called eagle gold wire bonders, had begun. It said it has also received a letter of intent from Amkor to purchase another 200 machines in 2002. ASM said Amkor will use the machines already ordered in its Korean facilities. -By A.J.
