Yes re Chamberlain - it is fashionable to attack him now, but Churchill was not harsh on him and kept him in the Cabinet after he became Prime Minister. I wonder if the Americans in their desire to trump up charges against Sadaam to justify a political war won't find themselves overtaken by reality. I read Robert Fisk today saying that the 'Palestinian State' (watered down version - feeble really)has been resurrected by the US to try to get at least the moderate states in the Middle East to sign on for war with Iraq, or at least to stand by. But Cheney is getting a chilly welcome from everyone but Israel, and Israel in plunging forward blindly is in danger of losing everything as it is seen to be increasingly morally bankrupt. It seems to be in great danger of imploding and some even speak of civil war. So if only one could fortel the situation a year from now?
