Adobe Beats Street's Q1 Estimates

Boston, Mar 14, 2002 (MidnightTrader via COMTEX) -- Adobe Systems (ADBE) tonight reported Q1 results, posting revenue of $267.9 million, compared to $329.0 million reported for the first quarter of fiscal 2001. Pro forma net income was $52.8 million, or $0.22 per share, compared to $83.6 million, or $0.33 per share, a year ago. Analysts were expecting Adobe to report a $0.20 Q1 profit on revenue totaling $268 million.
Looking forward, the company says it sees Q2 EPS at $0.24 to $0.27 per share with revenue at of $305 to $325 million. Analysts are expecting the company to earn $0.25 per share on $312 million.

The stock is gaining 3.9 percent tonight on 25,430 REDIBook shares.
