I understand the situation, humans are humans, and they all behave similarily, some are more privileged than others and if they treat those who less with respect and civility it is hopeful that progress and growth can be achieved by all, if they treat them like they are dealing with a rabid dog, they will get bitten

Where's the "end game"?

The calculus of reactions must show fewer such growing bands of terrorists, not more.

The assumption being used is: the more force the US uses, the fewer terrorists emerge to threaten the US.

If actions taken today, such as "axis of evil" and nuclear declarations, cause a greater number of terrorists to emerge 6 months from now, these assumptions will have to be reassessed.

The idea that threatening mini-nukes somehow increases national security is misguided, to say the least. That's not a threat of any consequence to these "evil doers", and in fact simply escalates the bar to make radiological attack of a US city more worthy of terrorist consideration.

The most it can do is threaten states that sponsor terrorism, and only that which can be discovered. We have already seen that the state sponsoring the most terrorism, Saudi Arabia, simply escapes blame by PR and payoffs of the administration and Congress.

So who does this threaten?
Only other nations who can only preserve internal political order by escalating their own nuclear and WMD programs.

This is an escalation into another arms race for economic and internal US political reasons, which instead risks the security of American civilian population, rather than improving it.

The only conclusion I come to is that after punishing Afghanistan, declaring bin Laden doesn't matter, it's time to declare victory and leave the insanities of the Middle East to the Middle Easterners.
