SeeBeyond, Compaq team for zero latency By Heather Harreld March 14, 2002 7:44 am PT SEEBEYOND HAS TEAMED up with Compaq to provide high-performance integration solutions for Compaq's Zero Latency Enterprise initiative, the companies announced Thursday. As part of the agreement, SeeBeyond will port its eGate Integrator solution to the Compaq NonStop platform. Compaq's Zero Latency initiative is a transaction-oriented solution designed to provide a single, integrated view of business and customer transactions as they occur in the enterprise in real time. In a zero latency environment, the flow of information is accelerated to the point where transactions are instantaneously propagated within the enterprise. The partnership will allow Compaq to further expand and strengthen the enterprise integration capabilities of the NonStop server and will provide Compaq customers with out-of-the-box integration functionality, said Reed Henry, senior vice president of services, support, and alliances for SeeBeyond. It will allow Compaq customers in various industry sectors to link multiple legacy systems for mission-critical applications such as monitoring inventory levels in real time, Henry said. "[Retailers] tend to have numerous legacy systems," he said. "All this information is located in different environments and they have to pull that information together very quickly. That high-availability retail environment depends on point-of-sales data to be consolidated back into inventory." As an integration solution for Compaq's ZLE architecture platform, SeeBeyond will initially develop NonStop server adapters for its eGate platform, enabling current and future Compaq customers the ability to rapidly connect legacy and non-legacy applications such as those from Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, and Siebel Systems.
