Aren't you in any way concerned that Japan may call in a few loans and devalue their currency? They devalue their currency and Detroit will be hurtin' more then they already are. Hmmm... should I buy a Ford or... wait! A Toyota at half the price? Should be pretty cool for the U.S. steels companies ... oopps I forgot, we can always add more punitive trade tariffs.

No doubt that this is a change of rapid technological change but,
so was the 19th century with the railroads and industrial revolution and the
early 20th century with electrification, radio and telephone. However, at each time there has been over investment in the new technology, a bubble and a retrenchment. What is at question is how long the current retrenchment will take to wring out the excesses from the economy. I don't think we are through it yet.
