I could not have listened to you so well during this exchange if you had insulted me at the beginning of it. Which would have been too bad. I used to insult Emile a lot. He has been here forever. And we would have so many goes at him on feelies. Then once, just once, I had a conversation with him. I still don't understand why he is the way he is, but I am glad I had the conversation I had with him- about other things. His life, his work- not a peep about his politics. After that I still condemned his ideas, which I find just horrible, but the man is just a man. And we can all hope that some day the man will change. He is probably more likely to change if people talk to him rationally, than if people scream at him. Screaming just makes people angry and defensive and makes them dig in to whatever position they happen to be in. Even people who know they have made a mistake often won't admit it if you make them feel defensive. This is simply me experience.
