Canadian Crude Separators to Form Income Trust

09:29 EST Friday, March 15, 2002

TORONTO (Reuters) - Canadian Crude Separators Inc. said on Friday it would reorganize into an income trust to maximize the financial return for shareholders.

Closing the reorganization proposal is still subject to shareholder approval and other regulatory approvals and documentation, the company said in a statement.

If approved in late May, shareholders will receive one unit in the trust for each common share of Canadian Crude.

"We believe that there are significant growth opportunities in the oilfield treatment, recovery and disposal business," the company said in a release.

"By reorganizing into an income trust, CCS believes it will have improved access to equity capital which will enable us to more aggressively pursue our growth strategy."

Its shares closed on Thursday down 10 Canadian cents, or 1 percent, at C$9.85 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
