Eco, Re: Wouldn't it be reasonable to expect a planned ("official") price cut to coincide with T-bred release?

First: Sorry if my initial answer sounded a little bit harsh (after rereading it I got the impression). Regarding Thoroughbred and price cuts: The "official" price cuts are usually scheduled to coincide with Intel price cuts, so I doubt it. But then again, my crystal ball could be malfunctioning. ;-) My guess is that we will see Thoroughbred notebook systems sometime in late April or May and desktop processors a month later or so.

BTW, unofficially prices have been already lowered across the line. I don't know why AMD won't officially lower them until April (maybe to comfort analysts and investors?) but it is a little bit strange that the XP2100+ is selling for over 30% below list price. I don't think anyone ever bought a XP2100+ for the official price. Or in other words: The official price is a farce IMO. At least until April.
