">>Bezos sold more shares!<<
Ted, Bezos sells his Amzn shares to diversify his portfolio.
Like the rest of us he doesn't want all of this eggs to be in one basket. "

James,

Bezo's last sale was 10 times his typical number of shares that he sells. That is extremely strange just for diversification.

HJM, The 2001 Proxy Statement shows that Bezos
owns about a third of the company stock. Given that
he controls a significant chunk of the stock and
that he will continue to "diversify" out
of AMZN, every one percent reduction that Bezos makes
in his holdings equates to a 1/3 percentage increase
in the number of available shares to be "effectively"
traded by the rest of us. More supply of effectively
traded stock should add pressure to the stock price.

I've never heard a CEO claim that he sold
because he thought that the price of the stock had
hit its highs. The reason has always been "diversification".
Ex-CEO Skilling of Enron also gave this answer when
asked why he sold so much at the highs of Enron.
Whenever I hear a CEO say the word "diversification",
I interpret it to mean, "I'm taking money off the table,
and I'm not telling you the real reason why. You investors
will need to make that determination by yourselves."
