It is very upsetting. My one big attack on freedom of the press occurred due to stuff like this. I was in downtown Washington late at night, at home from college, having missed a bus, and noticed a paper box on the corner that was open, with a paper sticking out. I looked at it, and saw that it was a racist sheet, the kind that made a case for Jesus being a "Galilean", not a Jew. It was horrifying. Among other things, it had a comic strip about killing the black man in an interracial couple, with real advocacy placed nearby, if muted. That finally pushed me over the edge. I went around feeding boxes quarters, then taking all of the papers and trashing them. There were about half- a- dozen in the area around Pennsylvania Avenue where I was waiting. I have never felt guilty. I would not have done it had it not been for the advocacy of violence against black men who date white women. I admit, as an intellectual exercise, that I may have done wrong, but in my gut, I have always felt right.......
