I think that the Saudis are fearful for the example a reformed Iraq would present to their own people. They don't want us cleaning up that mess. And no peace plan is EVER going to work until all the Arab nations unequivocally recognize the right of Israel to exist within secure borders. As for raising animosity toward the US, how could it possibly get any worse?
