Yet still further proof of the evil of religious fanaticism. Such buffoons! Such pettiness! Such discrimination based on sex! Such hypocrisy!

Re: Saudi police 'stopped' fire rescue

Is this a real story or just another instance of crass yellow-journalism?? Granted, there was a fire. True, there were casualties... But I suggest we wait another day to hear what REALLY happened.

how come the police were allowed to see the girls if they were improperly covered?
why don't they have scarves, protected and easily available, in case of an emergency, just as they should have fire extinguishers? the saudis may be true believers. an eternity in heaven for a soul outweighs death in a fire. when they have sex (on earth) i hope they aren't disappointed. the vast majoity of women i've been with haven't looked like playboy playmates and weren't as sexy as hollywood starlets. some guys always were on mescaline, lsd or something when they had sex. the saudis may really believe it is very special because their culture acts like they are teens with raging hormones and can't be allowed alone with a female or to see a leg, neckline or hair.
