cnn.com

To impose the death penalty under Texas law, a jury must decide unanimously that Yates was a future danger and that there were no mitigating circumstances against executing her. The jury answered no to the first question and therefore did not have to answer the second.

Of course, some 3.2 million people would make Harris county the highest in many things, including number of death sentences....

IMO, white, black, brown red or yellow had nothing to do with it. This woman gets to remember this her whole life now....that would be worse than death to me.

I have another idea. Banishment. Why not take all death row inmates, and those serving life with out parole, and turn them loose on some deserted island, or an island inhabited by the people like the tree dwellers of Borneo. I understand that these people still practice cannibalism, so it would be a caveman type of existence if they managed to survive at all. To me, this would be a far worse punishment than a jail cell, and cheaper for the taxpayers as well.
